About Autism Spectrum Disorders

Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) are complex neurological disorders that affect the acquisition of various skills and competencies throughout life. ASD is characterized by communication and social interaction disorders, as well as by unusual activities, behaviors and interests. The term spectrum applies to a range of autistic disorders, which can range from mild to severe in many areas of development. In Cameroon, specialists in the fields of medicine and education still seek to discover how ASD affects people and how to work effectively with people with ASD.
